Frequently Asked Questions
What is your approach?
I am primarily a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist. However, every individual’s experience in therapy is unique and I endeavor to meet every client’s needs in the most accessible and impactful way.
How often will we meet?
The typical model is to have sessions once every week. This maintains a good rhythm between the focus of the session and the time needed in between for reflection. As a client progresses through therapy, time in between sessions can increase. Some approaches require a more intensive model. This can only be determined after an intake session.
How long will the therapy last
Depending on the mental heath issue and the individual circumstances, this can vary greatly. Some clients can have merely a few sessions while others can continue sessions long term. Either way, a client can always end sessions at any time should they wish to do so.
Are you available for Questions or Emergencies?
I am always available for emergencies. If you call after hours, I will assume that you are having an emergency and will respond as such. However, if you would like to ask a question, or are seeking additional resources, you can send an email or text message and I will respond as soon as I can.
What can I discuss in therapy
Literally anything. Conversations in therapy are privileged and can only be shared under subpoena from a court of law. Even then, a court order to reveal information can be challenged.
